Katie Whidden is a stand-out triathlete who began her quest for cross training in high school, where she distinguished herself as a varsity basketball and tennis player and garnered All Ohio, All conference, and team MVP awards. She was then recruited with a full-ride scholarship to play Division One college basketball for Elon University. Combining brains with brawn, she also received the Southern Conference Commissioner’s Academic Medal and was named to the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll in addition to multiple coaches’ awards.
Katie started cycling during college for cross training and from there transitioned to triathlon where she has consistently been found on the podium. She continues to pursue her passion for athletics by mentoring junior cyclists and triathletes on the Priority Health Multisport Team, coaching endurance athletes and working in the gym with athletes of all sports and ages to achieve their potential in their sport. Katie is a USAT level 1 certified coach.
