Brian Whiting returns to Athletic Mentors after serving as an Assistant Sport Performance Coach at Eastern Michigan University. In this role he was responsible for all aspects of training for Women’s Basketball, Women’s Diving, and as an Assistant for the Football team. Prior to EMU, he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Lawrence Tech University for two years. As Head Coach, he oversaw all aspects of sports performance training for hundreds of athletes on 18+ athletic teams.

Brian was first a member of the Athletic Mentors staff starting in 2017. In his Strength and Conditioning role Brian gained more experience training clients of all ages, with many different health and fitness goals.

Brian’s other collegiate coaching stops include six years at West Virginia University working with Women’s Basketball, Women’s Tennis, and Men’s Golf, and two years as a Graduate Assistant at Michigan State University assisting the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning staff.

Brian earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2009, and his Master’s degree in Kinesiology in 2011, both from Michigan State University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa.

A native of Plymouth, MI, Brian grew up loving to play and be involved in sports. He continues that passion today by helping others through physical and mental training. With over twelve years of coaching experience, he has helped many top level athletes achieve their goals.

Brian currently resides in South Lyon, MI with his wife Elise, daughters Shay and Kya, and son Bohdi.
